Small World Play

Small world play is the place of magic, make believe and where you will find little dolls, animals, cars, trees fairies, wizards and beyond. Its play on a miniature scale. Allowing children to engage in small world play provides a space in which children can explore and interact with new materials or old materials in a new way. Have you ever thought to use chick peas in a construction site set up? Small World Play often incorporates loose parts to expand and create scenes and scenarios. It fosters the development of language, imagination, fine motor, emotional and a deeper understanding of the world and the community children belong too.
